Associate Professor M. Talat Uppal is a Gynaecologist and Clinical Associate Professor in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Macquarie University. She is a Visiting Medical Officer at Hornsby Ku-Ring-Gai Hospital and the Director of Women’s Health Road (WHR), a multidisciplinary, digitally integrated women’s health service on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.
With a Diploma of Diagnostic Ultrasousnd (ASUM) and a Certificate in Clinician Performed Ultrasound, A/Prof Uppal has a specialist focus in gynaecological ultrasound.
A/Prof Uppal leads Australia's first Abnormal Uterine Bleeding (AUB) Management Hub, integrating digital health, in-house ultrasound, and multidisciplinary care into a single service model. Her work sits at the intersection of clinical innovation, women's health advocacy, and digital health — making her a sought-after collaborator for research projects, industry partnerships, and health technology development.
She is an active international speaker, a clinical advisor to several women's health technology platforms, an Adjunct Fellow at Western Sydney University's Translational Health Research Institute, and a Lead Chair for the AOFOG Congress 2026. She is the recipient of the 2018 RANZCOG Medal of Conspicuous Service and serves on the editorial board of the Australian Journal of Ultrasound in Medicine.
